Oyster Night at Cliff’s Edge, every Thursday, starting June 14th!

Here at Cliff’s, for a long time, we’ve wanted to ‘do something’ with the little service bar in the corner of the patio. It’s the first thing you see as you walk into the patio through the big old doors, and frankly, it was underwhelming. So, we’ve decided that on Thursday nights, it’ll be an Oyster station. We’ve had oysters on the menu in the past, and they’ve always been very well received. And now we feel it’s a great time to bring them back, in a ‘festive’ way. So now, when you walk in you’ll notice there’s a big 19th C. French Empire chandelier hanging over the corner bar, and a big old mirror attached to the back wall, with the Oyster and champagne/wine menu written on it, Brasserie style. Old School! You’ll see buckets of champagne, and piles of lemons, and platters piled with crushed ice and oysters. As we evolve, we’d like to set a few stools at the bar, so you can sit there, sip champagne and slurp down oysters. We have a feeling those might become the best seats in the house!
We want to be fair with our prices. Did you know Oysters were once the food of the poor? Yes, a very long time ago, they were. Not any more, but we’ll be trying to keep our prices for most varieties at about $20 a dozen, $12 a half dozen, with occasional more far flung oysters costing a little more. We’ll be offering some nice white wines and sparkling wines by the glass, and a champagne, as well as specially created ‘Oyster friendly’ cocktails each week. If you like Oyster Shooters, we’ll have those too! Come in and try it out, and let us know what you think!
